Reading too slowly is a major obstacle for many middle school students. Reading slowly makes it difficult to focus; comprehension suffers, and keeping up with school work is a challenge. Over the course of this program, the average student doubles his or her reading speed. Students learn a simple speed-reading technique and receive individual guidance from their teacher to identify and achieve their optimal reading speed. As a result, students improve their comprehension and concentration and become fully engaged in their reading. They enjoy reading more and get through their schoolwork more quickly and efficiently.
